Case of the Month

Good Diagnosis and Persistent Education and Motivation, Pays Off
An existing patient of many years a 55 year old male, had been presented with an extensive treatment plan which include orthodontics and several veneers to correct occlusal disease causing tooth sensitivity, muscle pain and excessive tooth wear. After years of consideration he decided to go forward with treatment with the exception of orthodontics.           

This type of complex case clearly exemplifies the importance of doing a proper occlusal analysis and trial equilibration on the cast and then wax up, so we can in fact predict what will happen in the mouth. It also exemplifies how successful and predictable it is the understanding and application of the 3 golden rules of occlusion. Observe the before, approved provisional and final photographs. In addition of a greatly improved smile, the patient’s head aches disappeared, for which he had to say “I wish I would have done this years ago”
